About Melis
Pronouns: She/Her
A lot of people come to therapy when they’re exhausted from trying to figure it out on their own. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Change is possible.
My focus is on eating and body image concerns, including binge eating, compulsive eating, emotional eating, mindful eating, and the complicated relationship with food that can take up so much mental space. I integrate mindfulness-based tools for emotional and binge eating through my Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT). I also draw on ACT and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), an evidence-based approach specifically developed for eating concerns. My approach is structured and evidence-informed, and also warm and collaborative. Together we work to understand patterns, build practical tools, and create meaningful change.
Alongside eating and body image concerns, I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, relationships, personal development, and life transitions. If something else is bringing you here and it feels like a good fit, I’d love to connect.
Your experiences, values, and identities are met with care and compassion throughout our work together.
I’m a Turkish-Canadian therapist fluent in English and Turkish.
If this resonates, you’re warmly invited to book a free consultation. I’d love to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
