We currently see clients in private practice providing psychotherapy treatment services in the area of clinical counselling. Our team has a broad base of training and experience working with trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, anger and stress management, and conflict resolution. We also have extensive experience treating individuals who have experienced trauma, relationship difficulties personally and in the workplace, and are struggling with issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and other interpersonal problems.

Our Approach

Our team’s approach is uniquely tailored to address each individual’s presenting problems. Commonly utilized methods include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which aims to address maladaptive thought and behavioral patterns, Solution-Focused Therapy, which builds upon one’s already established strengths, Narrative Therapy, assisting individuals in identifying their values and personal skill sets while broadening perspectives through alternative story building, and Motivational Interviewing, leveraging one’s motivations to elicit behavioral change. Trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, our team often employs an integrated approach that combines two or more methods to better target the unique characteristics involved in an individual’s life difficulties.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will therapy take?

The length of time it will take for you to complete therapy really depends on the nature of your concerns and the goals you are setting for yourself. Many of our clients have experienced benefit after just one session whereas others may choose to stay in therapy to maintain positive mental well being throughout the year. Typically, treatment is desired after a trauma or distressing event has occurred. Each week, we will review your progress at the beginning of the session, then work on the next steps you need to take to accomplish your goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel an appointment it is important that you contact us as early as possible. To avoid a charge for a missed appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice of your cancellation.

What do you charge for therapy?

We charge a price range of $150-$185/hr + HST. If you have access to extended health care benefits (e.g., Blue Cross, Sun Life) you will very likely have some amount of coverage to see a Registered Psychotherapist. If this applies to you, we strongly encourage you to call your provider to learn what coverage you have available to you. At the end of each session will provide you with a receipt with all the necessary information that your provider requires for you to get reimbursed.

Whatever fees your employer doesn’t cover can be claimed on your income tax as a medical expense.

We accept payment by internet e-transfer and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express).
